Our successful and growing animal hospital needs and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our animal-loving staff. We run a fast-paced clinic that sees patients Mon - Sunday. We're looking for someone who is experienced working in the Surgery venue including the use of ISO, TPR Monitors, Controlled Drugs, Autoclave (Pack prep) and Sterile Environments. Attention to detail is paramount. This is a full-time position working directly in the Surgery part of our AAHA Hospital. Clean and maintain the surgical room in preparation for procedures Take pets' weight and other vital signs upon arrival Adhere to hospital's safety and wellness regulations Educate clients about our surgery treatment plans Provide assistance during radiology procedures Prepare instruments and medications as directed by veterinary personnel Provide assistance to our Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians Provide patient restraint during procedures and examinations Calm and soothe anxious patients Other duties as necessary to care for all patients. Sample Veterinary Surgery Assistant skills Comfort around all types of animals required 1+ years' experience working as a Veterinary Assistant 2+ years' experience working with animals Experience with animal restraint a plus High school diploma/GED required Some college preferred, however, experience in Medical terminology and "hands-on" work history in the Veterinary business will be strongly favored.
