The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the national not-for-profit association established in 1863 that represents over 91,000 veterinarians working in private and corporate practice, government, industry, academia and uniformed services is seeking a Video Producer to join our Marketing and Communications team located at our Headquarters office in Schaumburg, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago.
Under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Creative Services and with input from project clients, the Video Producer is responsible for creating AVMA video products and establishing an annual video production schedule, in support of Marketing and Communications objectives and the Association’s overall needs. This position will write scripts; coordinate filming, editing and post production tasks; distribute videos via appropriate channels (YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, etc.); and maintain appropriate video distribution channels.
A bachelor degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in video editing, creating motion graphics and animations for videos, writing scripts and coordinating video shoots is required. Association experience is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. We require working knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, including After Effects and Photoshop; and in the following equipment: Canon XF-100, Canon Rebel T3i-DSLR, Sony HDR FX7, Newtek Tricaster TCXD40, Ari Light kit, Lowell Light kit, Zoom H4ZN Recorder and Tascam Handheld Recorder. A qualified candidate must be highly organized with extreme attention to detail and able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. The flexibility to work outside of normal office hours and travel up to 30% on behalf of the AVMA, as needed, is required. Additional requirements include ability to lift up to 50 pounds and possess a valid driver’s license.
