The University of New Mexico's Animal Resource Facility is seeking a licensed Laboratory Animal Veterinarian at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level (dependent on experience) beginning in on or about July 1, 2021. Director, Animal Resource Facility (ARF) reports to the Vice Chancellor of Research for the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center (UNM HSC) and serves as the University Attending Veterinarian in accordance with the USDA Animal Welfare Regulations and the Public Health Service (PHS) Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals. UNM has a breadth of research activities that include biomedical, behavioral and wildlife science. As University Attending Veterinarian, this position has responsibility for the health and welfare of all UNM animals involved in research, teaching, or testing in both the centralized and decentralized animal care programs as well as the New Mexico Veteran’s Administration Health Care Systems. This position also carries an open track faculty appointment within the School of Medicine with some opportunity for Graduate Medical Education teaching. UNM is an EEO/AA Employer.
