Wilmington Animal Hospital Associate Veterinarian Position - Part-time or Full-time

Wilmington Animal Hospital in Wilmington, DE is looking for an associate veterinarian.  Our multi-doctor hospital has been serving the community of North Wilmington since the 1940s.  We continue to grow by practicing thorough and thoughtful medicine.  We believe in the guiding principle of what is best for the patient is what is best for our hospital.  We treat our staff with respect and strive to have a fun work atmosphere.  

Our doctors are scheduled for 5 hour shifts when seeing appointments. We believe this allows the doctors to have personal time before or after their shift, and allows them to be as attentive to their last appointment of the shift as their first appointment of the shift.  This schedule also allows for them to have time both before and after appointments for completion of medical records and messages while working a “normal” and humane day.  Appointments are 20 to 40 minutes depending on the reason for the visit.  Doctors are paired with 2.5 to 3 technicians or assistants per doctor.  

Doctors that perform surgery have a dedicated “surgery day” to allow for complete patient care without the stress of having to finish in time to see appointments.  

There is no after-hours on-call for patients as we have several great emergency clinics in the area.   Your time away from the hospital is your time.  In addition to a full in-house laboratory and digital x-ray, we offer ultrasound appointments with a board-certified radiologist every week.  We also offer board-certified surgeon procedures to our patients.  

Doctor compensation is negotiable (base + production, no negative accrual) and includes continuing education, VIN membership, and the Plumb app.  Full-time positions also include health insurance and disability insurance.  Additional benefits for full and part-time veterinarians include 401K with match, DE license, DEA license, liability insurance, and DVMA membership if desired.  Our time-off policy is generous and flexible with the overriding principles of only one doctor taking off on a given day and willingness to cover for one another as needed.

DVM or VMD with ability to be licensed in Delaware
