Modern Animal is looking for a Veterinary Technician Clinical Trainer (internally referred to as an Area Clinical Trainer) to join our growing team.
The Area Clinical Trainer will be responsible for the execution of all training necessary to launch a successful new clinic. They will work to ensure all training is up-to-date with current protocols and procedures. This individual will support the team and team leads on operations, technology, and medicine. They will work closely with the clinic leadership to assess the levels of the para-staff and make a plan to fill in training gaps where necessary.
In this role, we are looking for a credentialed veterinary technician who possesses advanced technical skills, great relationship building skills, is able to comfortably speak in front of groups, and is excited about rolling up their sleeves to work alongside our care teams to ensure they are well-trained and can thus help us continue bringing our mission to life.
The individual for this role would ideally be based in the San Francisco Bay Area but will have approximately 50% travel to Greater Los Angeles to facilitate training or attend company meetings. When they are not traveling or in-clinic, this individual can work from home.
What you’ll be working on:
Coordinate and execute training plans and training resources across new and existing clinics, ensuring a strong cultural foundation with each new team
Support training, development, and implementation of changes within clinics
Spend time in clinics observing and working alongside the care team, identifying gaps in training in both individuals, clinics, and organization-wide - prioritizing based on need and impact
Identify, and create plans to address, any training gaps; provide leads with a clear and actionable plan to resolve training gaps in individuals and clinics
Assist in maintaining training documentation, including documents to support stakeholder management and engagement
Support clinic leadership with onboarding and skill building of new team members (backfills or additional hires outside of new clinic openings)
Create, conduct, support monthly fundamental trainings (including CE) both in-person and virtually
Fill relief shifts in local clinic area for two to six shifts per month, as needed
Partner with the clinic leadership to ensure that the staff is appropriately trained to support the clinic needs

Minimum of 5 years working in the veterinary industry with a minimum of 3 years as a licenced Veterinary Technician
