Founded in 1969, Larimer Humane Society is an independent, non-profit organization whose mission is to further the compassionate, safe and responsible relationship between animals and people. As Northern Colorado's largest open-door animal care facility, we provide shelter, medical attention and care to thousands of lost, abandoned, injured, abused, ill and orphaned animals each year. Larimer Humane Society is also home to the county's only Animal Protection and Control unit. Through contractual agreements, the Organization provides full service animal control for Fort Collins, Loveland and unincorporated areas of Larimer County and supports other Northern Colorado communities.
The opening of our new shelter in Loveland, Colorado, in September 2017 marked a new era for Larimer Humane Society. With more space, efficiency and flexibility, we can better achieve even more. We are proud to strengthen our commitment to our community and the animals we share it with.
