Salmon Brook Veterinary Hospital in Granby, CT is seeking a full time large animal veterinarian with strength and interest in large animal wellness, preventative, and emergency medicine.  A strong interest and expertise in lameness, ultrasound and endoscopy is a plus but not required!  Three to five years of experience is preferred, however, newly graduating veterinarians are encouraged to apply.  Salmon Brook is an equal opportunity business and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

Our privately owned, 9 doctor mixed animal practice focuses on high quality medicine, teamwork, and customer service.  The large animal division is comprised of approximately 85% equine, 5% bovine, with the remaining 10% small ruminants, porcine and camelids.  

The successful candidate will be provided a fully stocked ambulatory vehicle, assigned a  technician, and offered a generous benefits package including personal pet benefits and medical benefits.  Salary is commensurate with experience.  In addition to salary, you will also receive 23% of your production.  Compensation is based on a Pro-Sal model with no negative accrual.  Liability, and Disability insurance is included.  Licenses, AVMA, AAEP, and CVMA dues as well as a $2500.00 continuing education allowance are all paid by our practice.  A 10K sign on bonus, 10k relocation bonus, 10K negotiable loan repayment option, a year gym membership at the local YMCA, and a $300.00 a month for 1 year housing stipend are offered with a signed contract.

Scheduling is flexible, we value a life work balance and put emphasis on mentorship for new employees.  A 4 day work week with equally shared on call duties is necessary for this position.
