Best Friends Animal Hospital is a privately owned practice, so you won't have to deal with all that corporate stress here! Best Friends is an exciting and progressive small animal practice in Calhoun, Georgia. We occasionally see exotic and farm animal patients as well. There is opportunity to see exotics or farm animals; however, it is not a requirement of employment. We have a fun and friendly staff that enjoy our work, patients and clients! The office is conveniently located 7 miles off I-75 and is nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. There is a lot of opportunity for extracurricular activities in Calhoun, including tennis, golf, hiking, pickleball and more! We are minutes from Berry College campus and a short ride further from Chattanooga and Atlanta. We offer a wide variety of services to our patients, ranging from routine preventative care and surgery to advanced diagnostics and orthopedic procedures. Our clients are some of the best around and allow for very thorough workups. We currently have in house blood analyzers, AI cytology, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, digital color ultrasound, endoscope, rigid otoscope/rhinoscope, surgical cautery, digital tonometry, cryopen, blood pressure monitor, therapeutic laser, pulse oximetry and capnography. We have a combined 25+ years experience and encourage mentoring between all staff members.
Because of the huge growth that we’ve seen, we are looking to add a long-term doctor to our staff. We are looking for someone to fill a full-time position. Someone looking for a part-time position would be considered as well. New graduates as well as experienced practitioners will be considered. Mentoring is always available and encouraged. Our senior doctor has over 18 years experience as a veterinarian and our associate doctor has over 7 years experience. Both are eager to help each other as well as new associates. Salary and benefits commensurate with experience, ranging from $90,000-$150,000. Moving expenses or signing bonus is available. We also offer matching IRA, medical insurance, malpractice insurance, continuing education stipend, AVMA dues, GVMA dues, Georgia license, DEA license, uniforms, vacation compensation and sick leave.
We are looking for an individual who's excited to join a team that provides high quality preventative and non-routine care for dogs and cats. There is opportunity to see some exotic and/or farm animal appointments if interested but not required. DVM or equivalent and Georgia Veterinary Medical License required.
